How does the 2023 Chevy Tahoe Stack up Against the Toyota Sequoia and the Ford Expedition?
We always want the best. We want the best meal money can buy. We want to send our children to the best schools. And we want to watch the best movies when we're cozy in bed. It's natural to want the best things for you and your loved ones.
So, when it comes to how your family travels in Livingston, you're not going to lower your standards. And you shouldn't. That's why we've brought the top three full-sized SUVs to your attention. We're favoring the Chevy Tahoe for obvious reasons. But the other two have a lot to offer. Let's see if the best fit for you and your family is the new 2023 Chevy Tahoe.
Interior Design
Chevy Tahoe
The Chevy Tahoe's spacious cabin is highlighted by 36 inches of head- and legroom in all three rows. Whether you've got a cabin full of adults or teenagers, there's more than enough room for them to fit in either row. The base model Chevy Tahoe features body-contouring cloth seats that are more comfortable than you'd think. But with an upgrade to a higher trim comes more desirable features like perforated leather first- and second-row seats, soft-touch surfaces, and temperature-controlled front seats with massage capability.
Toyota Sequoia
The Toyota Sequoia offers more than 33 inches of legroom in each row with a 6-inch sliding and power-folding third row. Heated cloth-trimmed front seats are some of the entry-level features of the new Sequoia. With an upgrade to a higher trim, you can add ventilated temperature controls for the front row and massage features, premium leather upholstery, and a captivating panoramic moonroof.
Ford Expedition
The Ford Expedition is another three-row full-size SUV near Hanover, NJ. It offers a three-seat, second-row bench option for each trim that will fit eight inside your cabin with over 36 inches of legroom in every row. But if you don't need additional passenger space, you can exchange the second row bench with a couple of second-row captain's chairs. Trim-specific upgrades include leather seating with massage capability.
Performance
Chevy Tahoe
The Chevy Tahoe offers three trim-specific drivetrains. The standard 5.3L V8 offers 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. The 6.2L V8 brings more to the table with 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. For max towing capacity in Summit, NJ, you'll want to opt for the 3.0L diesel 6-cylinder engine for up to 7,900 lbs. of towing power. The Chevy Tahoe also has a trim specifically designed to handle your off-road duties in Summit, NJ. The Z71 features the 5.3L V8, a heavy-duty air filter, a 2-speed transfer case, front-rear tow hooks, a front skid plate, and adaptive suspension. You can also add the Z71 package to select trims.
Toyota Sequoia
The Toyota Sequoia features the i-FORCE MAX technology in its powertrain. The standard 3.4L twin-turbo V6 is combined with an electric motor to produce 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. of torque. Towing capacity rounds out at 9,520 lbs. when properly equipped. And for improved traction and handling, the Sequoia employs multiple drive modes to suit the weather conditions or off-road terrain in West Caldwell..
Ford Expedition
The Ford Expedition has a variety of engine options. There's a twin-turbocharged 4.5L V6 with 380 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. The higher output version, available on select trims, will increase those numbers to 440 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque. When properly equipped, the Expedition can pull up to 9,300 lbs. with an available intelligent 4WD and terrain management system.
Technology and Safety
Chevy Tahoe
The Chevy Tahoe brings standard to another level. The 10.2-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and multiple USB ports are available on entry-level models. You can upgrade your commute with features like a premium Bose stereo system and dual 12.6-inch display monitors behind the first-row seats. And when you travel in Newark, the standout driver's assistance features like forward collision alert, lane-keeping assistance, and front pedestrian braking will keep you covered at all angles.
Toyota Sequoia
The Toyota Sequoia offers an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen on its base models. With an upgrade to the correct trim, drivers will have a 14-inch touchscreen and wireless connectivity via Bluetooth®. Trim selection will determine whether your cabin will include a wireless charger, a second-row entertainment system, and a futuristic digital rearview mirror. Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.5 has available features like blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and braking assistance.
Ford Expedition
The Sync4 technology powers the Ford Expedition's entertainment. The entry-level model has a 12-inch infotainment screen with Apple and Android connectivity. A trim upgrade will bring a vertical 15.5-inch infotainment screen and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. Other trim-specific upgrades include a 22-speaker Bang&Olufsen stereo and a rear seat entertainment system. The Ford Expedition also features standard driver assistance features like forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking.
We've laid it all out for you. And the best we have to offer is inside the 2023 Chevy Tahoe.
